Connect Program Fellow Fall 2020; Senior Facilitator
Country of origin: USA
Date started with Soliya: 2016
Education and field of work: I have completed bachelors and masters degrees in political science (too much government!) Most recently, I completed my law degree. I plan to go into the field of compliance where I will advise companies on best practices to conform with government regulations. My dream is to be a regulator in the US government. Aside from that, I also arbitrate cases in the financial industry related to broker-dealer relations. I also advise non-profits on a consulting basis.
One accomplishment you're proud of: I am proud of being the first member of my family to graduate from law school. This would not have been possible had it not been for the success of my great grandparents who owned several businesses and laid the groundwork for me to succeed!
What about Soliya inspires/motivates you to be involved? Soliya has always been amazing at making me feel integral in its mission and goals. I have had so many opportunities to engage with the organization in ways I never thought possible. This is due in part to the welcoming staff who are always seeking to promote their volunteers and connect them with amazing opportunities. It is this openness that keeps my passion for this work and the success of the organization aflame!
What can you be found doing when not working/facilitating/training? Reading non-fiction books, hiking, and those great Friday movie nights with my family!
Favorite food: Italian by far, which I take much pride in making myself. Delizioso :D
