Education and field of work: I teach English.
What about Soliya inspires/motivates you to be involved? I’m still involved with Soliya for several reasons including and not limited to working in an international environment. Soliya’s diversity is rare and unique and gives all of us the opportunity to learn from each other. I also enjoy seeing participants dig deeper into dialogue, gain cross-cultural experience, and grow.
What can you be found doing when not working/facilitating/training? I admire history. There is nothing I enjoy more than spending some quality time at a museum, a temple, or an ancient building. I feel that there is a sort of connection between me and places. They captivate me and every piece of architecture has an inspiring and intriguing story behind it. Of course, Egypt is the best place for these activities. I also like walking by the Mediterranean or the Nile and capturing the sunset, reading, watching documentary movies, and cooking. It is a pure joy to cook meals from different places and have an authentic taste of their culture.
Favorite food: Indian chicken curry, Egyptian koshari, and Syrian kibbeh. Yummy!
