Senior Facilitator; Facilitation Fellow, Spring 2019
Country of origin: Bangladesh
Date started with Soliya: 2012
Field of work: I hold three Master’s Degrees: Master of Water Security, Master of Development Studies, and Master of Engineering in Environmental Engineering. My work focuses on the intersection of sustainable development, conflict, and communication. I have worked for and with international and national organizations like TED and WaterAid.
One accomplishment you're proud of: I worked in a First Nation community of Canada this year where I taught children. There were certain communication and cultural barriers, but through my commitment and the community's cooperation, I was able to do some incredible science projects (e.g. water testing). I have been also a UNESCO Fellow (2013), a Clinton Global Initiative Mentor (2017), and Greenpreneur Accelerator program mentor (2018).
What about Soliya inspires/motivates you to be involved? I am a firm believer of trying. Soliya tries to create an atmosphere of coexistence for youth, and this inspires me.
What can you be found doing when not working/facilitating/training? I usually spend my time reading books on numerous subjects, and writing or translating.
Favorite food: Sushi.
