Connect Program Facilitation Fellow Spring 2021
Country of origin: Germany
Date started with Soliya: 2020
Education and field of work: I hold a master’s degree in political science and additionally studied some sociology in my bachelor. It was during those study days when I had my first experience with virtual exchange. I started to work as a facilitator for the first time back in 2015. In 2018 I became a full time member of the Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange project for different partner organizations, being responsible for communications and project implementation. I also have experience in the field of remembrance work and political education, areas in which I also engage as a volunteer besides my work.
One accomplishment you're proud of: I just love to work with other people, being part of opportunities for others to grow and broaden one’s horizon. Observing groups of young people growing together is always a beautifully rewarding experience for me – and I myself always learn a lot from each group in return.
What about Soliya inspires/motivates you to be involved? Virtual exchange and online facilitated dialogue in particular combines the elements of internationalization with democratization of some sort as it connects people from different locations but also from different societal backgrounds, which is even more important to me. I am convinced that the more we get familiar with the other – may it be people or ideas that seem foreign to us at first – the more we will be able to realize the vision of a better, globally connected world. I think especially Soliya, being pioneering in this field for many years, has done great work. It makes me happy to be able to contribute to it.
Additional roles within Soliya: Senior Facilitator
