Establishment of the Exchange 2.0 Website (In 2015, Renamed Virtual Exchange Coalition)January 10, 2014
In the final weeks of the Connect Program semester, facilitators ask their students to brainstorm what can be changed in order to improve relations both within and between our societies. In almost every group, someone responds with,;More people need to participate in programs like Soliya ;
We completely agree, which is why we joined with our partners at Global Nomads Group, iEARN-USA, and Qatar Foundation International to launch the Exchange 2.0 Campaign. We want to see a world in which all young people have the opportunity to engage in meaningful and empowering cross-cultural exchange as part of their education, and we believe that we can get there together by growing the field of virtual exchange. As you know, virtual exchange can provide deep and profound cross-cultural experiences while reaching and connecting people who might not otherwise have the chance to meet face-to-face.
Last month we launched a brand new website for the Exchange 2.0 Campaign. If you haven’t had the chance already, we hope that you will take a moment to check it out at www.exchange2point0.org and learn about the collaborative efforts of diverse organizations in the virtual exchange field. Please join us by tweeting to #exchange20 about your own virtual exchange experience (your tweet will appear on the website!) and sharing the new website with your community.
Thanks to rapidly improving technology and growing support worldwide for virtual exchange it is now completely possible that in the coming years all young people will indeed be able to participate in programs like Soliya.
