Vision

A pluralistic world where diversity is embraced and conflicts are transformed into opportunities for collaboration and collective learning.

Mission

To prepare rising generations to approach differences constructively and lead with empathy, in order to thrive in an interconnected world.

We started Soliya in 2003. Before Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, young champions for change Lucas Welch and Liza Chambers recognized how social circles in the digital space could change the world — for good.

In doing so, we became leaders in a field that is now called Virtual Exchange — high impact inter- and cross-cultural education facilitated through digital technology — and seen as the tonic for our times. We developed our own dialogue and training methodologies through which we bring together 15,000 young adults each year in small, diverse groups and over the period of several weeks for dialogues on identity and in the context of current events.

Everyone’s story deserves to be told — and heard. That is why we connect people in conversation, enabling them to share their personal journeys and engage with and across difference. We are here to eliminate the idea of ‘the other’ so that we can thrive in this 21st Century society — together.

"Soliya is a young success story, already increasing empathy and understanding among a wide range of participants, and helping a new generation of leaders set foot into the world."
